Research Conference Goals

Educate

The primary goal of this conference is to provide an opportunity for faculty to present their research and share their updates on current research trends and call for further research in the industry and academia.

Engage

The secondary goal of this conference is to encourage faculty interaction, engagement, and collaboration in research projects for personal development and career advancement. 

Empower

The secondary goal of this conference is to encourage faculty interaction, engagement, and collaboration in research projects for personal development and career advancement. 

Research Tracks

The overall intent is to encourage the presentation of research projects that are either completed or works-in-progress. Work based strictly on a research idea or literature review will also be considered. Authors are invited to submit works that are both conceptually- and empirically-based describing original research on the following topics:

 

  • Consumer Behavior in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry

  • Education – Pedagogy and Curriculum Development

  • Information and Communication Technologies

  • Sustainability and Green Technologies

  • Trends in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management

Paper Guidelines

  • Format: PDF (no word files will be accepted in EasyChair)

  • Layout: One-inch margins and single-spaced

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12pt.

  • Citations and References: APA-style format.

  • Title Page: Page 1/ title page should include name of the author(s), contact information, and keywords

  • No author indication should be included after the title page. Submissions that fail to follow these guidelines will not be reviewed.

NOTE: All submissions will undergo a double-blind review process. All author(s) will receive decisions with notice of acceptance, including comments and feedback from the reviewers. Author(s) should revise the paper and submit their final extended abstract before the deadline. The revised final version will be included in the conference proceedings at the NENA Federation webpage, on the ICHRIE website.

Track 1

Stand-Up Presentation Submissions (New!): Stand-up presentations can either be based on full or working papers. Working papers typically report the results of research in its early stages and provide innovative ideas and promote critical discussions in hospitality. Full papers typically provide insights into theoretical underpinnings, research methodologies, findings and conclusions drawn to advance the knowledge within the profession.

  • Paper Length: 5,000 words excluding the title, abstract, figures, tables and references

  • Abstract maximum of 150 words

  • Maximum of four keywords
